Pitbull (and other banned breed) owners did a fantastic and even remarkable job of coming together to oppose the ban. We learned about and participated in the democratic process at every step and stayed involved all the way to Queens Park where Michael Bryant himself said that four days of public hearings was "unprecedented". Organized and vigilant, people for and against the ban gathered information and prepared presentations. Experts including the Canadian Veterinary Association, dog trainers, groups representing animal shelters and humane societies UNANIMOUSLY OPPOSED the ban and presented numerous examples detailing WHY BREED SPECIFIC LEGISLATION DOES NOT WORK. Even though opposition to the ban came out at an estimated 75-80% of the presentations, the liberal government PASSED THE BAN.
